Just got a GHIN, worth it to post + backdate older scores from this year?
Main Post:
Wondering if I should post my older scores (at the very least the most recent 20, can't see a need to post all of them?), or only post the ones going forward. I play 3.5 times a week so getting up to the 20 rounds for an "accurate" cap won't be too difficult, just wondering if there is a certain etiquette around it. I got a GHIN for a tournament that requires it in a few months, as well as due to the fact that the vast majority of my rounds are 10-17 holes due to playing twilight, and 18b just doubles the 9 hole score. FWIW I am currently a 21.0 on 18birdies, started the year as a 48 (lol). I am not worried about hitting 20 rounds before the tournament, any advice would be appreciated.
Top Comment: There’s nothing wrong with posting your older scores to get started on GHIN. Yes, like the others said, going forward you should post them for the day you played. Like everything else in golf, it comes down to whether you’re being honest or not. As a 25+ handicap I’d assume you’re not playing in a tournament that that will be looking up the dates of your rounds and putting up a fuss. Go ahead and post them.

Uk Post 2021 Volkswagen GOLF 1.5 TSI R-Line 5dr 59000 versus Nissan leaf 19 k miles
Main Post:
Is this a stupid decision? I can get a GOLF R-Line TSI 1.5 for £16,999, while my Leaf is worth just under £12,000, so I would be taking out an HP agreement for £224 per month for 3 years. Its also only had one owner.
My question is: Based on reviews, the TSI R-Line seems to have a good and reliable engine. However, it has 59,047 miles, a full service history, and runs on petrol.
I earn £48k per year, but there is uncertainty in the financial climate. My other car is fully paid off, so I have no outstanding debt on the leaf bought it during covid when cars was hard to come by from my leasing company.
However, the Leaf's value will likely drop further as the mileage increases, making it harder to trade in for something decent in the future.
What is maintenance like on these. They said they would do the oil change and the timing belt would last about 110k miles, Am I being totally dumb here its a prime example of a nice mk8
I only did about 5k miles a year with the leaf but knowing petrol is just a garage away I would be driving more often again like 10 k miles.
Am I totally stupid on this.

Do you Post Every Round to Your Handicap?
Main Post:
Recently, I've gotten into the habit of... If the course doesn't have a driving range or doesn't have a practice net i can warm up at, I won't post the score (even if it's good). What do you guys think about this?
I find it takes the pressure off of not being warmed up for several holes, and opens me up to take a more practice type approach to the round.
Top Comment: I post all the scores by the rules. So with other players, no gimmies, play it down, OB is OB (not a lateral), etc. Other rounds with friends if we are playing for fun and there are a bunch of gimmies or we are playing OB as lateral for pace of play, I won't log them. But I'm not a big warm up guy, so the range doesn't play a factor in my decision. I definitely treat rounds differently, and sometimes I am just there to get on course practice and not be as concerned with my score. And some days, I want to see a what a legit number is.
Do you post scores on “practice” rounds that may affect your handicap?
Main Post:
Sometimes I play rounds with friends where I intentionally try to hit clubs/shots I wouldn’t normally hit for practice. This leads to higher scores, but I don’t upload those for fear of “sandbagging” my handicap. Is this disingenuous?
This strategy got me my first ever Eagle on the front 9 this Sunday, even though I still shot a 51. This would have never happened if I wasn’t being super aggressive and not worrying about my scores and just trying to practice hitting hero shots or clubs I am not confident with
What’s the consensus here?
Top Comment: You can do whatever you want, as long as you decide BEFORE the round whether it is a practice round (and doesn’t count for your handicap) or not.
Does anyone know what the plans are for the New Post driving range?
Main Post:
Did they sell the property? If they did, did they sell it to someone who wants to continue using it as a driving range or did it get sold to a developer who is planning on putting a strip mall or houses there? Does anyone know anything about it?
Top Comment:
I’ll never forget the owner shaming me for using a credit card because of the fees he has to pay, and charging to hit off grass.
It was a nice range though, loved smoking stingers into the car.
Trying to find content creators who do unbiased reviews of golf clubs.
Main Post:
I have a few people I watch, Pete Finch & Rick Shiels, but is there anyone else out there that does a lot of club reviews. Im just looking to get a broadened array of opinions before I go to a golf fitting so that I could maybe have more knowledge about the clubs I'm swinging before buying. Been looking to get a new set of irons, I have had mine 13 years, getting them at age 13, and they were cheap RAM irons ( may also see about getting a new wood too). Looking to get a new set as I have now gotten older and more into the sport since the pandemic. Any suggestion of clubs to look at or reviewers to watch would be appreciated. Thank you!
Top Comment: Txg is pretty unbiased
Is this a legit website?
